About Jillian B. Sobo

Jillian Sobo is a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist in both Massachusetts and Connecticut, a Doctor of Acupuncture in Rhode Island, and a nationally certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine. She earned her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the renowned New England School of Acupuncture located in Newton, MA, the very first school of acupuncture in the United States, founded in 1975. Its rigorous academic program includes classroom and clinical training totaling over 3100 hours, including extensive training in Western biomedical science.
As the Lead Acupuncturist for both Exhale Spa in Boston and Harvard Square Chiropractic in Cambridge, Jillian practices both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, orthopedic acupuncture and manual therapy, and Dr. Tan’s balance method acupuncture. She traveled to Japan to further study the use of acupuncture in post-stroke rehabilitation under Toshikatsu Yamamoto and to study advanced moxibustion techniques under Tetsuya Fukushima. She is certified in Auriculotherapy (ear acupuncture and acupressure). She has also done additional training in Chinese herbal medicine under Dr. Tao Xie and Ruth Knill at Pathways to Wellness in Boston, MA. Musculoskeletal conditions and pain relief, digestive disorders, women’s health, respiratory conditions, and stress and anxiety disorders are among her primary areas of focus. Jillian is particularly fond of treating women's health issues including fertility, pregnancy (including turning breach babies and labor induction), menstrual disorders, symptoms of peri-menopause and menopause, and more.
Jillian holds Bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and French from Colgate University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. She enjoys hiking, reading, musical theater and cooking.
