To all my CrossFitters (and other extreme athletes) out there, please be careful, and never forget to trust and listen to your body. Whether faced with the threat of the end of the world (or at very least, the end of the Mayan calendar) or simply a visit home to see family, the holiday season can often be stressful. This is a particularly good time to focus on balance, and we at JSA are here to help you calm your mind and bring you back into harmony!
If you don't have time to come in for a treatment until after the holiday season, use the following simple acupressure technique at home in the meantime. Massage your ears (both at the same time is ideal) firmly for about 1-2 minutes using your thumb and index finger, starting at the top of the ear and moving down, so that the ears feel warm and stimulated. Since the ear represents a microcosm of the entire body, this helps to realign the body and mind, and feels incredibly grounding. Done very gently, this can be used to help to soothe a fussy baby! Looking forward to seeing you soon. Warmest wishes this holiday season :) Our hearts go out to all those impacted by hurricane Sandy.
